We offer a variety of dance styles for various ages here at KDT. 

We offer classes in: ballet, tap, jazz, lyrical, contemporary, hip hop, pre-pointe, pointe, acro, aerial silks, & more.

Styles may vary in availability due to age, prerequisites, or instructor approval.

We love encouraging the beginning of any dancer’s journey! We have classes at any age available for beginners to dance, and programs to facilitate their growth as they grow too. 

YES! We offer a free trial class for any new potential student to ensure that dance is an enjoyable experience, and they are placed in the right class for them.

We have a variety of performance opportunities for all students at various commitment levels. 

  • Annual Recital (all classes/students studio wide)
    *excludes aerial silk & younger acro levels
  • Nutcracker Ballet performances (available for participation/audition to levels CD3 and above)
  • Spring Ballet Theatre performance (available for participation for classes CD2 and above + Ballet Jeté & Petite Jeté)
  • Rice University Half Time performance (all Diva level performing groups)
  • Kennedy & Company Showcase (all competition group divisions: Spirit in Motion, Rhythm & Moves, Apprentices, Jazz Co Juniors & Minis)
  • Ballet Jeté Tea (Ballet Jeté pre-profressional program & Petite Jeté performing group)
  • Competition (all competition group divisions: Spirit in Motion, Rhythm & Moves, Apprentices, Jazz Co Juniors & Minis)

ABSOLUTELY! We have a variety of classes available for young teens and adults that focus on ballet, tap, and a variety class. You are NEVER too old to dance. Our adult classes are filled with beginners and experienced dancers, parents, grandparents and young adults! It offers a creative place for both exercise and technical dance education at any age.

Our class tuition is organized by time spent in class, plus registration fees with reduced rates for multiple registrations in one family.

Your class schedule will vary based on your dancer’s age and commitment level. 

Some classes are 30 minutes (ages 2-3,  separate core classes for the Primary program, young performance group additions, etc). Some classes are 45 minutes (ages 3-6, separate core classes for the Secondary program, young hip hop, acro classes, etc). Some classes are 60 minutes (Graded program, School Age classes, aerial silks, adult classes, older performance groups, etc.)

As you explore our classes you will find each available date and time for each class. 

Yes! A dance class uniform helps create a sense of unity and focus in the studio. It allows students to move freely and safely while giving teachers a clear view of posture and technique, ensuring proper instruction. Beyond practicality, uniforms foster a professional mindset, build confidence, and help every dancer feel like an important part of the class community.

Other than your one time new student registration fee and monthly tuition, here are some of the other fees or costs you can expect throughout the season. 

  • One-time Recital fee (if you choose to participate)
  • Costume costs (for recital participation or for competition groups if applicable)
  • One-time Nutcracker performance fee (if you choose to participate)
  • Competition fees (for those participating in competition groups)

All of our instructors bring their own unique dance history, teaching experience, and certifications, as well are being required to complete outside dance education hours each season. We also have an annual teacher training to ensure we continue to serve our community together with compassion and comittment. Each teacher is selected with the highest standard for dance education but also for student care.

Each student is originally placed based on their age, experience, and observation by our teachers. Each student receives progress reports each season. The staff works together as a team to place each student in the appropriate class for the following year, based on observations of skill, growth, and readiness for advancement.
