2027’s recital theme, “Radio Requests”…
is inspired by songs that have filled our homes, our cars, and our hearts for generations. Just as families once gathered around the radio to listen together, we gather to celebrate the joy of music and movement. Ephesians 5:19 encourages us to “sing and make music from your heart to the Lord,” reminding us that every gift of music and dance can be an expression of gratitude, joy, and praise.

Costume selection is a thoughtful process to complement the choreography and concept of each dance while ensuring they are age-appropriate and flattering for every student. Our goal is to create a polished, cohesive look on stage that enhances each performance and allows dancers to feel confident and proud. Some 3-in-1 costumes will be chosen for multi-class use.

Families can purchase tickets in advance for all shows for friends and loved ones. We also offer flowers (order in advance, pickup at the show) and personalized ads to be placed in the recital programs. Personalized ads can include photos, messages, or congratulations, giving families a way to recognize their dancer in the program. These options help make recital day memorable, organized, and meaningful for students and their supporters.

Dress Rehearsal & Picture Week

Dress Rehearsal & Picture Week
Dress rehearsal and picture week are important parts of the KDT recital experience. During dress rehearsal, students run through their full routines in costume, allowing them to practice timing, spacing, and test costuming in front of a small audience and with no mirror. This week also gives dancers the opportunity to have professional photos taken individually and in groups. Both rehearsal and pictures happen at KDT studio, and your student’s class rehearsal schedule will be released closer to this week.

Recital Blocking
Mon-Fri May 24-28 @ San Jac Central College
Recital Blocking / Tech Rehearsal Week
Blocking/tech week is when each recital show practices on stage under full lighting, sound, and set conditions. During this week, dancers run through their routines exactly as they will perform in the recital, allowing them to get comfortable with spacing, stage placement, entrances, and exits. Tech week helps students be fully prepared for show day. Rehearsal times will be released closer to this week.
